Watch Our Progress
Ironworkers are busy erecting the structural steel "bones" of the new Tyee High School this month.
Many pieces of structural steel were erected in just the past week at the Tyee High School construction site.
See the steel laid out in order like a surgeon's tools around the southwest corner of the site earlier in the week.
Then the rows of steel disappear as they are dropped into place using a crane.
Above is the March 21 view from the site camera, looking toward the southwest corner of the school campus, showing the rise of the new Tyee. Building activity above ground is moving north on the side of the site adjacent to Chinook Middle School.
The crane on the right is used to install structural steel. The long tubes on the left are for pumping concrete.
Crew members assist with pouring concrete.
In the photos below, crew members check the construction progress and concrete slabs.
Here's a throwback photo to March 11, 2024, just before the structural steel installation started at the southwest corner.
Schedule & Budget Status
The Tyee High School replacement project is on schedule and within budget.
We expect the new school to open in September 2025.
