New Tyee Takes a Giant Step Forward

Steel columns and beams are expanding around the Tyee High School construction site, in a clockwise direction. Construction began going vertical in February in the southwest corner. Now the steel structure has reached the northeast corner and is wrapping around the space that will become a large central courtyard.

A geothermal loop to heat and cool the new school is being installed deep below the athletic field.

The new Tyee High School is on budget and on time to open in September 2025.
