School Board Considers November Bond

School Board Considers November Bond

The School Board is considering a resolution to place a capital bond before Highline voters in November. Highline's volunteer-led Capital Facilities Advisory Committee has recommended a $518 million bond that would fund the construction of new facilities for Tyee High School, Evergreen High School and Pacific Middle School and pay for critical capital improvements across the district.

The bond would not increase the property tax rate, if passed, due to expiring taxes.

The board is slated to vote June 22 on the resolution to place the bond on the ballot.

More details and information are in the May 20 news post, "Committee Recommends Evergreen, Tyee & Pacific Bond to School Board."

The new school designs for Evergreen High School, Tyee High School and Pacific Middle School were on display at the May 18 school board meeting for the presentation by the community-led Capital Facilities Advisory Committee. Architects from Bassetti Architects, Integrus Architecture and Hutteball + Oremus Architecture were present to represent each design project. The design work was funded by the 2016 school bond.
