Hello Tyee Students, Families, Staff, and Community Members,
Your Tyee School Counseling team is looking forward to connecting with you all this upcoming 2021-2022 academic year. While we know it will be an adjustment for all of us to return to campus full time, our team is so thrilled to be sharing space with our community again. As your Tyee counselors, we are committed to serving our students, families, and community in the best ways that we can. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us to let us know how we can best support you.
Counselor Assignments & News
As we get closer to the start of the academic year, we would like to provide you with some updates to our school counseling department:
Tyee would like to welcome Ms. Alcira Robbins to the school counseling team! Ms. Robbins has been part of the Highline school district for six years. She previously worked at Evergreen High School as a bilingual paraeducator/family liaison. Ms. Robbins graduated with a Master of Arts in Education degree, from the school counseling program at Seattle University. She is looking forward to working with you all!
As we welcome a new member of the team and approach a new school year, we have made a decision to adjust the school counseling caseload with the hopes of creating a system that allows for consistency and ease of access moving forward.
Beginning with the 2021-2022 school year, our Tyee school counselor assignments are as follows:
|All Students, Grades 9-12||School Counselor|
|Last Names: A-E||Michael Whitfieldemail@example.com|
|Last Names: F-L||Jenn Truongfirstname.lastname@example.org|
|Last Names: M-R||Alcira Robbinsemail@example.com|
|Last Names: S-Z||Keishanna Russellfirstname.lastname@example.org|
We recognize that this change may be difficult for some students and families who will transition to a new school counselor. Please know that school counselors value the relationships built with our students and families, and as we work very closely as a team, we will do our best to support you through this transition.
Counselors have returned from summer break and are busily reviewing graduation requirements and completing schedules for every student on campus. Student schedules may be picked up at Tyee’s Welcome Back Event on Wednesday, September 1, from 12:00-3:00 p.m. Please understand that schedules viewable in StudentVUE may change up until then. There will be a process for students and families to request schedule changes after the first day of school. Thank you for your patience, as there may be a slight delay in email responses while we dedicate our time to building accurate schedules for all students.
Tyee is home to such a uniquely wonderful group of students, and we love that we get to belong to such an amazing community. Your school counselors are excited to get to know and work with you this year!
