WELS is moving to the Tyee campus this September.
WELS promises to prepare all students for college and career through a personalized, experiential learning community facilitated in the context of the natural world. We are a Career and Technical Education rich program providing multiple 21st-century learning opportunities and skills for jobs in the outdoor recreation/education and natural resources fields.
Incoming 11th-grade students (current 10th-grade students) will remain within the WELS program and attend at Tyee campus. WELS will continue to accept incoming 10th- and 11th-grade students districtwide who are interested in the outdoors and looking for hands-on learning opportunities such as working with 6th-grade students at Camp Waskowitz.
Transportation will continue to be provided via a combination of school bus transportation and public (Orca pass) transportation. Here are some FAQs around the transition to the Tyee campus.
If you have any questions, please reach out to Olivia Riojas at 206-631-7626, until June 16. Contact Tyee High School for questions starting June 17.
