The application window to attend the Tyee Health Science Program for the 2025-26 school year is now reopened.
Program Highlights
Career Preparation
Students will gain the skills needed for high-wage medical careers, with opportunities to earn Industry Recognized Credentials and pursue college degrees in the medical field.
Foundational Courses
9th and 10th graders will engage in hands-on Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses such as Human Body Systems, Intro to Health Science Careers, and Medical Terminology.
Pathway Options
In 11th and 12th grade, students can choose from:
- Nursing Assistant Pathway: Earn a Nursing Assistant Certification (NAC).
- Pre-Allied Health Pathway: Explore careers like Physical Therapist or Radiologic Technologist.
- College in the High School Pathway: Earn college credits towards a two- or four-year degree in the medical field.
Students will have access to guest speakers, job shadowing, internships, and work-based learning opportunities. We are currently working to secure an industry partner to support the development and launch of this new program.
Enrollment
The application window for the Tyee Health Science Program is now reopened.
Tyee is accepting incoming 9th-grade students for the new health sciences pathway. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in all Tyee sports, clubs, and extracurricular activities.
Schools of Choice Application Timeline for 2025-26
Application windows and reopening dates vary by school. Below is the general timeline for most schools and programs.
- November 8: Application opens
- December 11: Centralized High School Transitions Event at PSSC at 5:30 p.m.
- January 31: Applications closes for most schools (Please check each school's website for more details).
- February: Schools reviews applications
- March 3: Lottery
- March 4: Lottery results posted online
- April 4: Final student date to confirm acceptance
- April 14: Schools and programs not at capacity will reopen.
