About Environmental Leadership
Waskowitz & Environmental Leadership
Fifth- and sixth-grade students explore the forest, Snoqualmie river and community living in Waskowitz’s residential Outdoor School program that has been engaging students in science and environmental education since 1947.
High school students go to Waskowitz as one-week leaders for the Outdoor School program. This solidifies student’s learning and leadership skills as they cultivate an outdoor experience for 5th-grade & 6th-grade students and partner with teachers.
The Environmental Leadership program partners with Waskowitz in developing environmental educators. Environmental Leadership students are given the opportunity to learn how to build relationships with younger students, create engaging lesson plans, practice leadership skills, and connect with nature. Environmental Leadership students will have multiple opportunities to go to Waskowitz to be a high school leader.
